I can't say enough about what a wonderful time I had at Trotcon this weekend. Bronycon was SPECTACULAR in its scope and crowd and sheer level of activity. But there's a place for smaller, more fan-centered conventions too, and Trotcon was absolutely amazing! The venue was lovely, everything seemed to run like clockwork, and my humble corner of artist's alley was constantly a-buzz with friends old and new alike!
I will write up more about my experience in the next few days and start posting some more information about what I'll be doing for and bringing to Everfree NW in a few short weeks. But for now, I'm taking the day off to clean my house, play some games, and check out The Dark Knight Rises.

Peter New likes me (or at least my art!)

Earlier today the fantastic Peter New (voice of the ever-lovable Big Macintosh) chose my art to be his official autograph piece at Everfree NorthWest this weekend!
I'm kinda freaking totally out and feeling like a million bits right now!
Squee levels are just too high at the moment for a proper update! I will have more stuff to say about Everfree, the merch I'll have on hand, and other sundry bits of information tomorrow.
This calls for the opening of a bottle of Brooklyn Brewing Black Ops. Talk to you all soon!

The End of Pony?

My friend Lauren over at the Daily Dot recently posted a rather interesting article considering the various signs of a dwindling fandom, and whether the G4-based My Little Pony community is burning out at the same breakneck pace of which it initially flared to life.
On one hand, the article is a more than a little tongue-in-cheek and clearly meant to ruffle the horsefeathers of a community that has proven exceptionally good at being ruffled over the past several months. Controversy, reactionary rants and drama wars forged in the fire of hurt feelings, damaged reputations, and public vitriol have been the norm lately. Far more of the negative than the unofficial (though overused to the point of cliché) motto of “love and tolerance.”

Cold water season.

the cliffWe walked north on the beach until we could go no further.
The north end of the beach in front of the hotel ends with an outcropping of rocks that protrude into the ocean for a hundred yards. Two hundred yards? I don't know. My senses seem to have dwindled over the years or are lost entirely at times.
We climbed up the highest rock and sat, talking about the time we braved the waves and rocks closer to the shore to get to another private beach farther north. This time there was a sign saying not to attempt such a crossing.
Looking down from our perch it occurred to me that we could just jump off the cliff into the sea and swim to the private beach. Probably would be easier.
Eleanor knew I was thinking about it. She pointed out a big rock just below the surface. Hmm. Not there. A little farther out. The cliff is a little lower. Hmm. Water looks dark and deep. You and your team are definitely killin it, and i'm sure the Bronies will feel it too. They're gonna have youtube videos where they extract the dialogue and SFX and just listen to the score!

We were actually taking about this particularly in reference to the score for (omitted). We all agreed that you really took the scores for season 3 to a new level... so thanks for all your work this season!

Today my brain has been all FALLOUT! AVENGERS! PONIES! EAT THAT BAGEL! EAT ALL THE BAGELS! AVENGERS!

Whoo! Trotcon was great!Trot Con was awesome! We had a awesome artist panel there! Audience was great! Thanks to Darkly Cutie and company for making this happen! I slept through the entire plane ride home. A combination of SD Comic Con and Trot Con fatigue will do that. Thanks to everyone who came by the table. I was doing ink drawings this time. I wish I took pics of every one of them! Argh! It was great to see the likes of Willdrawforfood1, Pixel Kitties, EcMajor, Skoon, HotDiggedyDemon(Hope he feels better!), Pigfish, DreamFilly, etc. etc. It's amazing what a con can do without having the VA's. I got to hang out more and other things. I love this community!
Going to be vegging for now. There's still a LOT to do! A lot of work to be done!
Next stop: Everfree Northwest!
P.S. I will do the 3rd pic from the last Request Friday this week and resume Request Fridays this week!

Trotcon AHOY!

Bright and early Saturday morning myself and Mr. Pixelkitties will set sail for the not-so-distant land of Ohio where the ponies AND the bronies roam free! Trotcon 2012 is just a couple days away, and I'm almost-sorta-kinda-ready! Well, almost!

For those still on the fence about attending Trotcon, tickets will still be available at the door!

I have gotten several questions about what I'll be selling and prices. I apologize in advance for the ginormous length of this post!

Here are examples of the Elements of Harmony Storybook boxes (In other words, they look like real books, but you can put your things inside!) I'll be selling three sizes priced at $20, $30, and $40 I will only have a couple of each size though!

Also available will be pony-themed soda bottles including Brew Free Or Derp, Arrogant Trixie, Rolling Tom, and Nuka Classy Cola! The bottles are priced at $5 each.

Button, button who's got the button? Apparently I do! All my buttons are 2.5" and priced at $3 each. If you buy 4 or more they're reduced to $2.50 each! The Trotcon mascot Peanut Bucker will be an exclusive never to be seen again...or at least until Trotcon 2013!

My poster selection is a little different from Bronycon with the addition of Changeling Espionage and Jason Takes Manehattan. The posters are 11 x17" super-high quality prints and are priced at $10 each.

Last but most numerous are my 4x6" and 5x7" prints. I've got a ton of these in both sizes. Some of the images differ slightly between the two sizes. 4x6 prints are priced at $3 each and, like the buttons, if you buy 4 or more they're only $2.50 each!

5x7 prints are priced at $5 each.

I will also be selling poster tubes for $2.50 each, because everyone (including me!) hates putting their posters in unnecessary peril! Or even necessary peril! Avoid peril with cardboard tubes!

As always, I give out stickers with every purchase. They're perfect for...well, sticking. On things. Because, they're stickers. It's right there in the name!

Brony Thank You Fund Print by *PixelKitties

Finally, you can pick up my increasingly-limited Brony Thank You Fund print entitled The Standing Ovation! I'm selling this for the fund, so all proceeds go to Toys For Tots. These are priced at $20 and are printed on heavy card stock!

Whether you're coming to buy swag or not, I hope everyone will stop by my booth and say hi! Hugs and autographs (Still not sure why anyone would want me to deface their perfectly good things with my scrawl, but there it is!) are always and forever free!
