My friend Lauren over at the Daily Dot recently posted a rather interesting article considering the various signs of a dwindling fandom, and whether the G4-based My Little Pony community is burning out at the same breakneck pace of which it initially flared to life.
On one hand, the article is a more than a little tongue-in-cheek and clearly meant to ruffle the horsefeathers of a community that has proven exceptionally good at being ruffled over the past several months. Controversy, reactionary rants and drama wars forged in the fire of hurt feelings, damaged reputations, and public vitriol have been the norm lately. Far more of the negative than the unofficial (though overused to the point of cliché) motto of “love and tolerance.”

Too Many Pinkies? No such thing.

Hola everyone! Well, we made it through the long dark pony-less teatime of the soul and emerged victorious! Or at least we managed to make it through the summer without cannibalizing each other and making Hummel figurines from the bones, which I'm going to count as a victory. Go Team Us!
So, what did everyone think of the S3 premier? I know, I know, King Sombra was underutilized, but I suspect we're simply seeing the beginning of a story arc with the growly, pimped-out Tyrant. A lot of clues were thrown out in those first two episodes, and I doubt we've seen the last of Sombra or his story. For my part, I was a bit disappointed in myself at how far off I was predicting his appearance (Credit to ZuTheSkunk for the show-accurate Sombra vector, for comparison.) No cloven hooves! No unshorn fetlocks! So few spikey bits! My wizard

MLP - Too Many Pinkie PiesHey hey everypony!
So we finally welcome back season 3 of MLP! I'm very excited for this season to unfold, and I hope that all of you are avoiding all the spoilers and commercials like you should be!
Next week, my first episode of season 3 airs, "Too Many Pinkie Pies." I had a blast working on this episode with my amazing board partner Dave. I have never gotten to do a full-on Pinkie Pie episode, so this was definitely a fun one for me.
Looking forward to seeing more fan content, I'm always amazed at all the talent out there!

The end of a party, and the start of a show!3 Weeks Party / 3 Days Regret has come to an end, my first long story lasting over a year to create despite taking place within the timespan of 5 days. Overall very happy with the outcome and though it is painfully obvious how I lacked some of the skill that I later picked up in the earlier parts compared to later parts I have yet to correct all, but may still try and do so in the future, but definitely not in one go or that would destroy my brain to do so much editing / proof reading at once.

Would you like to have your pony OC featured in the background of the 3rd episode of the animated series "Doctor Whooves and the Assistant?"
Now you can! Just follow these rules and your OC MAY be put in the cartoon.
Rules:
-Have an OC that is a pony.
-Draw your OC doing an activity with my OC (stroking my ego, I know) and/or with Pierce Smoulder (OC for :iconbalddumborat

. You can see him in the Gangnam style video.
-Bear in mind that even if you do draw a picture, your OC may not be chosen to be put into the cartoon.
Winners will be chosen by myself, my co-animators and BalddumboRat if he/she feels up for it.
Exceptions:
-All OCs submitted and chosen to appear will be subject to modifications to fit the show style I use (recoloring, removing accessories, simplifying hairstyles, etc.) as I see fit.

The Unproductiveness of my YouthhoodI just realized how much time was wasted when I was younger. My elementary and High school's art classes never really taught me anything other than SOME perspective, SOME techniques, SOME still life, SOME crosshatching and how to do SOME construction lines on the face. And when they did teach it was in a way that, even now that I'm more experienced at art, is overly complex and doesn't REALLY tell you how it works (e.g. step 1: draw a circle, step 2: Draw the rest of the fucking thing). I never learned much and it just felt taxing whenever they taught me. And I did it all for the grade and not because I enjoyed art. Even the art club (which I only joined for one year) didn't teach us anything. They just tell us to bring tools and materials, and when we do, they just say go art something... Sure this is a good creative exercise, but only if you knew the basics which we didn't. We, or at least I, had and still have no idea how to paint on canvas, which paints to use for what I want to ac

EngagedHey all. I got engaged to :iconblackrose88: over this Thanksgiving. She's done so much to turn me around and help me stop being such a grump. We're planning on getting married in late March next year. It's going to be awesome.
Thing is, we'll need your help. We're doing what we can to pare down expenses, but the wedding's still going to cost a bit. We're also hoping to livestream it for anybody who'd like to watch.

Hello New WatchersWell!
It seems like an old comic of my recently went viral on tumblr. I'm really happy something I made meant something to so many people.
Over the past hours I've been gaining new watchers at an incredible speed. I lost count after 400 I'm actually baffled. A little anxious too since I feel everyone's eyes on me at the moment.

Anyways, it's a little stupid it's not like this is a bad thing. It's great.

The Power of Bethesda Compels Me!

Prior to Canterlot Gardens I was 199% certain that October was going to be an easy-going month of relaxing and playing video games and DEFINITELY not working on more pony-related stuff.

But, as previously pointed out, I am a dumb-head and my head is dumb! I had an incredible time getting to visit friends and share in wall-to-wall pony adventure (and try some incredible beers at local restaurants!) at Canterlot Gardens. But now I'm back and October is proving to be one of my most ridiculously busy months in terms of pony-related projects.

First of all, thanks to EVERYONE who came by my table at Canterlot, whether to buy something or just hang out and talk to me! And holy cats! Thanks to everyone who brought me amazing gifts and assorted amazingness! I am humbled and constantly surprised by how good and kind you are, my friends, and I can only hope that I measure up to the high bar you set for generosity. It means the world to me and I can't possibly thank you enough.

Also I want to thank (again and again and again!) Peter New and Andrea Libman for allowing me to supply the art for their autograph booths and for just being so nice to me in general! I'm in awe of how wonderful the cast and crew of this show are and how they exemplify all the same values of kindness and friendship!

Hopefully soon I will post pics of all my swag, gifts, purchases, and wonderful loot I came away with. For the moment, I want to focus on one particular pile of goodies from my friend Rhiss who works at Bethesda, the company behind Fallout 3 and New Vegas, The Elder Scrolls series, and the brand-spanking new stealth RPG adventure Dishonored (which is currently sitting on my shelf insisting I finish Borderlands 2 so I can start playing!)

Behold! I was given a super-giant sized New Vegas poster, Mojave Express and NCR patches, a Brotherhood of Steel statue, a blind bag custom of my OC pony wearing a Fallout vault suit, and an ACTUAL bottle of Nuka Cola (Bottled for the release of Fallout 3 in 2008 so it will have to remain whole and ungobbled!)

Best of all, and something I can't stop freaking out over, is a copy of my Bound By Derp comic signed by the Skyrim development team! SERIOUSLY!

HOLY CATS! I can't stop fangirl-ing! Of all the things that could happen this is the BEST POSSIBLE THING!

Thank you so much, my dear, for making my day, my week, month, year, epoch, everything! And thanks again to everyone who visited me at CG and everyone who continues to stop by here and offer me support and friendship as I continue to pony all the ponies!

As for upcoming stuff, I will have three new projects from We Love Fine being released this week as well as a couple other other big projects that I will announce as soon as I'm allowed to! For now, take care and be sure to enjoy October and the leadup to the best holiday of them all! HALLOWEEN! Er...Nightmare Night!
