On fandom, fans, and trollsI just flew in from Seattle, and I had a great time. In many ways it was one of the best cons I've been to. For my own part, everyone I met and encountered, from staff to attendees to VAs to friends old and new, were positive and the people incredibly kind and brilliant. I was witness to countless incidents of generosity and honesty and solidarity. Rarely have I smiled so hard or as often in the company of so many good people and admirable fans.
But, sadly, it seems not every experience this past weekend was so positive.

I've been trying to do one but I always fail. ;A;

Drawing is sooooo harrrrd. D:I'm trying to practice drawing frikken humans, but it's so frikken difficult.
I mean, I can draw people... Just not in my standards.
I have high standards. Normally, when other people draw in any skill level, I like it. But when I draw in my skill level, I hate it. It's probably because I'm always trying to go past my skill level into something WAAAAAY higher! That's probably a bad idea. I think I'll improve more if i took it down a notch. I really want to improve! I'm just lazy and lack patience.

I'm practicing right now, but nothing is good enough. I also find it difficult to find reference photos. I prefer deviantart when searching Anatomy because, you know, things are censored.

But when I'm looking for poses, I don't see much. I wish I had some guy friends that would pose for me.

UpdateYes, I have returned from the darkness!! Except I wasn't in the darkness.
Although no one has probably wondered where I went, I shall tell. I am not kidding when I say that Criminal Minds (CM) has COMPLETELY taken over my obsessions. I believe it outweighs PoM by many tons. It's easier to obsess over for a couple reasons:
1. It has a lot of episodes
2. It airs on a regular basis (on multiple channels, I might add)
3. It airs new epis on a regular basis
4. If you do not love Reid, you have serious issues. I am proud to be a Reid fangirl!!!
However, my PoM obsession has not died. I am super excited for the new epis (whenever Nick decides to actually AIR them). And I recently struck some gold in PoM merchendise (well, maybe not gold. Silver maybe. Pics later).
Also, PoM has about 2,200 stories, and let's face it, OCs have kind of taken over. CM has over 21,200 stories, and they range in drama to humor to good ol' team/family togetherness. I think that's the best part; the team is so much

But, getting hate mail because I have no pro-homosexual rights stufff on my Tumblr, The heck?
I wanted to stay out of this. I didn't want to get mixed up in this debate. Do we honestly think rebloging an article/picture/anything pro-gay rights is going to undo what's done? I'm pretty sure the government doesn't give a damn that you reblogged something.
But, NO. OH-HO NO! People are getting so touchy that I'm getting hate because I don't express my thoughts. I'm not gonna. My opinions on this subject are being kept to myself. I don't think it makes me heartless that I don't want to get mixed up in something that is only going to make me madder. If you people don't mess with my sexual preference, then I won't mess with yours.

NO TITLE :PSo... my last school dance of the year was yesterday. The only reason I went was because it was the last one. My school dances suck. Here are some reasons:
1. They are right after school, and not at night or anything.
2. They are always very crowded.
3. If I don't want to be alone, I have to stay with my friends, and they move rooms every 30 seconds, it seems.
Basically, you are either in the north gym playing basketball or volleyball, in the hallway enjoying refreshments such as pizza, chips, and bake sale goods, or in the south gym actually dancing. Bottom line, it just wasn't very fun.
Also, there was a police officer there. He was standing in the hallway and watching. It's perfectly normal to see police officers hanging around my school.
Onto a different topic, until last night I hadn't seen my dad in two days. He's been working really long hours this week for some reason. He left me a note Friday morning that said "Good morning, Anna, hope you haven't forgotten what I look like!".

EDIT: I want to thank everyone for the New Years wishes, I really do! But there is one thing bugging the hell out of me, you all keep saying Happy Julianuary (yes that is how it is spelled XD) but wasn't that celebrated on Christmas eve?
Considering that that is when Santa showed up and all that malarkey.
I mean, I appreciate it, I really do, but my inner rules lawyer keeps bugging me about it. XDD
I actually don't care about this since days and times were a human creation so that we could plant crops and figure out how old we're getting.
Either way I'm glad to have lived another year, loving my husband, my friends (online or otherwise) and my family.
I've progressed a lot artistically, talked to people I thought would never give me the time of day and tried to reach my life's dreams. I don't intend to give up on them, at one point I was seriously considering giving up art all together to pursue something that actually paid money.

Do not procrastinate. Ever.I procrastinate way too much, which drives me crazy. It's so much fun, because you get to goof off, but then when you have stuff to do and no time to do it... BIG problem.
Take right now, for instance. I didn't think I was going to finish this poetry project. But I think I will. Just need one more free verse, a good copy of my shape, and another shape. Plus a self reflection. Then I have to print it all out. THEN I have to finish my conversation circle packet. But I can do that during homebase if I really have to.
See what procrastinating does? It makes you get all freaky.
I'm procrastinating right now. I should be thinking of a free verse! But I got stuck, so I decided to procrastinate by writing about procrastinating. And one of my poems is ABOUT procrastinating.

I learned something very interesting today.Wanna know what I learned? I'd better start from the beginning.
In Language Arts, we are doing our poetry unit (project: we have to write 22 poems- 2 each of 11 different types- by next Thrusday. I have written 3.).
Our student teacher, Ms. Thompson, didn't want to start yet because the roads were terrible (it was snowing on and off all day; it's all melted now) and a bunch of buses were late, so we were missing nine people (out of twenty, and some buses were over an hour late). So she gave us a poetry sheet an told us to get to work.
The two other girls I sit with are Margaret and Ally. Ally was writing her burlesque poem about food, and the word she rhymed it with was 'dude'. So when she showed it to Ms. Thompson, she told Ally she couldn't use the word dude. So she asked why. Ms. Thompson told her that dude was the word for an ingrown elephant butt hair.
The elephant happens to be my most favorite animal ever. For some reason, this didn't offend me at all.

Canterlot Gardens Pony Outfitters

What a year it's been! Pony related fun and silliness has taken me from one end of our country (that being New York) to the other (Seattle) and everywhere in between (New Jersey, Pittsburgh, and Ohio) for a number of amazing My Little Pony conventions.

If you would have told me a year ago that I would get to be a part of so many different events within our community I may have called you a liar and a slanderer, sir, and challenged you to pistols at dawn. But here I am, ever so slightly exhausted, but absolutely honored that I've been able to connect with so many friends at so many places and had so much fun along the way.

This weekend will mark the end of my travels this year. Canterlot Gardens in Ohio is going to be great, but after that I'm taking a few months off. Oh, have no doubt, I'm going to feel sad missing out on Equestria LA in November, and I wish I could make it. But all work and too much travel makes pixelkitties something-something and its time to enjoy a few months of enjoying the show and making silly pony art at my own pace and just for fun.

But have no fear! There is more to come next year! I'm definitely attending Trotcon 2013, Bronycon 2013, Everfree 2013, (maybe, just maybe) Galacon 2013 and any other convention that will have me! But that's months away and so lets focus on the cornucopia of pastel equine goods and services I'll have available this weekend in Strongsville Ohio!
