I must confess, I started this week in a bit of a foul mood. My Tumblr Dashboard, my Twitter homepage, even my personal email were overflowing with "OMG! HAVE YOU SEEN THE LYRA SEX TOY! MY LITTLE PONY IS RUINED FOREVER!!!!" messages. All of them complete with photographic evidence. Everywhere I turned, from Reddit to Ponibooru was like the ruined battlefield of a civil war reenactment staged by green pony butts. And you know what? The first, let's say, dozen times I saw it, I said to myself "Self, that's the end. It was a fun ride, but it's time to nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure." Then I realized I was talking to myself again, and decided to just sit back, relax, and avoid the plot that devours nations.
Of course avoiding it was out of the question because the bloody thing was everywhere! For all I could tell it was being simulcast twenty-four hours a day by all the major networks, FOX, and ESPN 8- The Ocho. I was waiting for my mom to send me an email asking "Is that the kind of thing you and your brownies are into?"
So, I was upset, it made me feel like as a fandom all we've really got to look forward to is a downward spiral into Lovecraftian madness. Worse, I feel like I have enough trouble explaining why an adult woman with a relatively normal life and career spends so much time drawing and so much money buying Little Ponies.
But if there's one thing I've learned in my short time as a fan, it's that crazy reactions tend to spur equal and opposite levels of overreaction. Rather than join in the rending of We Love Fine garments and gnashing of teeths, I decided to just focus on not panicking and have fun with the absurdity of it all. And apparently a lot of other fans felt the same way.
It was cathartic. Instead of going all loose cannon and throwing my brony badge down on the Chief's desk, I poked fun at the whole fracas...er, ruckus. I got to laugh with the joke rather than weep in its general direction.
So, yeah. People are going to do weird shit. The word "fan" comes from "fanatic" for a reason. But that's true of anything. From Star Trek to Dark Shadows to Hello Kitty, there are always going to be folks who take their love into creepy, biblical directions. But it's not the end of the world nor the end of the show that we love. It's just a thing. And a downright silly thing at that.

Howdy Pardners!
Well gosh! It's been a long time, DeviantArt. How have you been? Terrible? Well, me too! In fact, that's what brings me back here. You may not have heard, but Flintheart Glomgold bought Twitter and immediately attempted to mate with it. Things aren't going well there and, frankly, we are all expect the place to collapse in on itself like the Poltergeist house any moment now. So, I figured I maybe using DeviantArt a bit more in our rapid-onset Dystopian future. With that in mind, I wanted to let you all know that I still live (please hold applause) and still have access to this account...apparently! And if you're looking to find me on any other social media apps that are a fraction less likely to sell my art, likeness and pets to NFT algorithms, then here's my linktree: So there's that! Hope you're all doing great! Feel free to drop the deets on where else I can follow you in the comments. Goodnight and Glob bless!
Kath Soucie Autograph
Another tiny dream come true! I received a package from the amazing, incredible and legendary Kath Soucie, voice of Fifi, Morgana, Lola Bunny and so many other classic cartoon characters! She sent me a beautiful personal letter, a signed postcard and autographed two pieces of my Fifi art!
I'm at a loss for words! This is something I've dreamed of since I was knee high to a skunk!
Now it's just a matter of framing the art and hanging it in my studio and office!
Ko-Fi is a thing, so I made one!
"I'll give it a try!" I believe those were the final words of the guy who tried to share his beer with a leopard.
Wise words from a guy who did a thing. And so, I too, decided to do a thing. A Ko-Fi Thing. I set it up, added some art and if you'd like to toss a tip my way for the stuff I do or just because you like my sparkling personality, now you can!I should point out that this isn't a place to request commissions. I almost never take commissions because my schedule is stressful 24/7/365. It makes me feel bad that I'm almost never able to say yes to the ideas and requests of friends and fans, and I am sorry! Hopefully someday!

New Magica Ducktales Cel
Here's my LOVELY new cel from OG Ducktales, specifically the classic episode Magica's Shadow War.
As you can see, this cel is METAL AF due to the bigass pentagram in Magica's house! In the episode, the scenes with it are cropped and scenery covers much of the magic symbol.
As the Satanic Panic was in full swing during the 80s, it's kind of amazing Disney animators even thought they could get away with this! I love this cel so much. It's a beautiful piece, but the weird history behind it makes it that much more wonderful!
Next step is to get it framed and add it to my office wall!

At first I was horrified but then I got crazier. And started laughing 'cause the whole situation was hilarious. Yes, this anatomically correct Lyra plush was wreaking havoc everywhere. Seriously‽
