Derpy is now pretty officially safe and sound, both at Hasbro and We Love Fine.  Just take a look RIGHT HERE, RIGHT HERE, and RIGHT HERE.

Congratulations everyone and thank you for your support over the past several days.

At this point, Hasbro is trying very hard to come up with a policy for dealing with our not-so-little community.  The best thing folks can do now is give them some breathing room.  So for now, no more calls or emails.  Let's have faith they are going to do right by us.  Now, more than ever before, the powers-that-be are aware of the size and buying power of our community.  I think we're going to see very good things from them in the near future.

And don't forget to give yourselves a tremendous round of applause.  Our community rallied in a big way and accomplished something pretty darn impressive.  Great job, bronies!  You're all now, officially, second best pony, right after Derpy.

PS- On a personal note, if you are the Tumblr-following type, you can now keep up with yours truly over there as well!  For now, I expect it will just be some random updates and another spot to post comics and art, but in the future?  Who knows!  It may just be the Tumblr that saves you from velociraptor attack.

No doubt you’ve all seen or heard the hullabaloo around Ye Olde Intertubes in the days and weeks following our beloved Derpy’s named appearance in the FIM episode The Last Roundup.  What began as a campaign by trolls wreak havoc was soon picked up by well-meaning-but-misguided bronies and fans.  The controversy stems from the mistaken belief that the word “derpy” is synonymous with mentally challenged.  Obviously, it’s not.  Rather it means clutzy or accident prone.  Further, fans maintained that her slightly-husky voice in the episode was an attempt to mock people with learning disabilities.  Again, untrue.  Voiced by actor Tabitha St. Germain, Derpy was mistakenly thought to be a boy pony and was based on a young boy who lives next door to Ms. St. Germain.

This tempest in a teapot stirred up around the fandom has now exploded into what seems to be a PR-pushback by Hasbro.  While much of the recent actions around Derpy and The Last Roundup are themselves still cloaked in rumor and conjecture, at this point it seems that the episode has been taken down from Itunes.  Further, it appears that super-awesome T-Shirt company We Love Fine has been given the directive to drop their Derpy shirts, at the very least, featuring Derpy’s name.

Enough is, frankly, enough.  We can’t allow trolling and misplaced butthurt to tarnish the reputation of our beloved, wall-eyed Pegasus.  We fans have a special love for Derpy, and it was a moment of wonder and joy when our friends at Studio B named her and featured her based on our feedback and support.  Now it’s our turn to step up and do what’s right.

Head over to We Love Fine and support our favorite clumsy pony by  purchasing one of the lovely and well-made Derpy designs  Let’s show Hasbro that we support Derpy and we don’t want them to change a hair on her adorable little head.

If you can’t afford a shirt right now, then do your part and contact We Love Fine and Hasbro, and let them know how much you love and support Derpy.  Don’t let the parasprites win.  This is the time to stand up and show your support for Derpy and our friends at Studio B.

UPDATE- Normally I don't put much stock in internet petitions, but in this case it seems a valid way to make, if not our voices, our number known- [link]

UPDATE2- Just to avoid saying the same thing  repeatedly in replies- No, nothing is 100% confirmed right now, but what I've posted today is based on NEW information from within the past two or three hours- and it looks pretty damn reliable.  That said, even if nothing is actually happening, it doesn't change the fact that plenty of angry, misguided, or outright trolling individuals have made it a point to voice their displeasure to our friends at Hasbro and are directing plenty of negativity towards the  cast and crew at Studio B.  This is our chance to counteract that- whether it's preemptive or a response to current events isn't the point, rather it's a matter of showing support for the character, the great people at We Love Fine,  and the amazing, wonderful artists who bring us Friendship is Magic.  We do that by supporting them with both our numbers and wallets.

Equestria Daily 100 Million Hits Banner by *PixelKitties

Logging on to the internet today, we've all seen the far-reaching and high profile impact of SOPA Blackout Day protests.  Wikipedia, Google, Reddit, the number of sites participating is inspiring.  I was also extremely happy and proud to see Equestria Daily shutting down for the day as well.  On the other hand, I was dismayed to see the response from some commenters and regulars to the site.   Most folks understodd the importance of this issue and the stand the crews were taking by doing this.  But a few individuals responded with complaints, whining, and disdain for the protest and the danger SOPA and PIPA present to our community and access to technology and free information for us all.

To those people, I say this- If you think YouTube's policies are bad now, wait until every website, search engine, advertiser, and webhost is threatened with a felony if they host intellectual property and content. Try sharing a video, song, piece of fanart, comic, or fanfic in a post SOPA world.  The NRA likes to point out how gun laws take the weapons from legal owners without diminishing the ability of criminals to get their hands on the deadliest guns and ammunition.  SOPA and PIPA would do much the same- crippling the internet, turning free-use laws on their head, and taking away our ability to conscientiously create, search for, and propagate information.  At the same time, pirates and hackers will do what they've always done- adapt. Sites like Google, Reddit, Ponychan, and Tumbler will face the loss of advertisers, funding, and criminal charges, while the real problem will simply sink deeper underground.

Make no mistake.  These laws are only about "protecting copyrights" in so far as giving huge corporations yet another foothold into our ownership of their product.  The same arguments took place thirty years ago during the advent of home video cassettes.  The same arguments were floated, the same cries for legislation rose up from the same giant media corporations.  But that was then, and rational heads prevailed.  This is now, and offensively uninformed old men are legislating our freedom and free, open access to the internet all the way to the bank.  Old men like Representative Steve King (R-IA) who tweeted he was "so bored" by the information presented concerning the dangers of SOPA, that he spent the time surfing the very internet he is voting to unravel.

This must to be stopped.

SOPA and PIPA affects us all.  Artists, bloggers, webmasters, redditors, musicians, bronies, videographers, programmers, writers, game designers, goons, nerds, sports fans, businessmen, advertisers, and everyone else.  The internet has given us the future, make no mistake.  All the leaps and bounds of technology over the past 15-20 years are thanks to the public's craving for information and broader access to that information.  With these bills, we stand a good chance of losing it all.

Do something, stand up for freedom, and speak your mind.

BoNYcon is just days away!  HOLY BUTT CATS!  I’m scared to death and completely nervous!  In my daydreams I like to imagine myself walking into the Hotel Philadelphia in super-slow motion wearing cool sunglasses, and drinking a martini while "Still" by The Geto Boys plays.  Also, there are professional light effects and possibly a motorcycle.

The reality is that I’m going to be utterly overwhelmed and trying really hard not to fart.

That said, while I’m certainly stressed and nervous, I’m also indescribably excited!  I mean, I get to meet so many of my online friends like Fetchbeer, Tekaramity from Equestria Daily, Plaster from DerpyHooves.com and Foalpapers from the #TwitterBronies!  Not to mention about a thousand other amazing friends and bronies I've been corresponding with over the past year!

And let's not forget a clandestine meeting with the mysterious beer-snobbing group of fans known as the "brewnies"!  And stuff!  So much stuff to buy!  I’m hoping to finally get my unworthy hands upon a custom Trixie toy and it would be nice to have my very own Star Swirl so I can recreate My Little Sunshine!  Hooray for stuff!

When it comes to the panel, I still feel…odd to be among so many amazing, brilliant artists.  I start to feel all head-swimmy when I think about how far this pony thing has taken me since last year.  I still feel like getting more than 10 favorites on a piece of pony art is unbelievable.  The fact folks like me enough to sit me down with JohnJoseco and Egophiliac and listen to me ramble about My Little Pony is surreal.  Wonderfully, gloriously surreal!  I just need to remember to not go into fangirl mode and use my position to ask the other artists all my burning questions!

And if you’d like to buy some silly thing I made, I will be selling stickers for a dollar a-piece and a special, full-page comic called “Bound by Derp” that I made especially for the con for three dollars.  Oh, and of course my new BroNYcon poster will also be available!  Or, you can just find me and say hi and give me a totally awesome brohoof or brohug!  That’d be good too!

So, with about 60 hours till the con, I am signing off and saying thanks to everyone!  Can’t wait to see you all there!!!

I just wanted to take a brief moment and say "Happy Holidays" to everyone out there on Deviant Art and in the rapidly-expanding My Little Pony fanbase.  You guys and gals, bronies and pegasisters have helped make this one of the best years of my life.

In April I discovered Friendship Is Magic and it, quite literally, changed my life.  I found a fandom I was excited about and that made me happy with every new episode and every new fan I was fortunate to meet.

So thank you all for bringing this beer loving pony so much joy and wonder!  You are the best friends and fellow bronies I could hope for, and...well, I just wanted to say how thankful I am for you all this holiday season!

I hope everypony is happy and healthy and surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones.  Take care, eat too much, open awesome presents, be good to each other, and remember that one silly filly in the far off land of Bittsburgh thinks the world of you!

In friendship and love,

Monica

Do you like shirts?  Do you like shirts that have ponies on them?  Do you like shirts that have ponies on them AND were made by boring old me?  Well, in the unlikely event you fit all those criteria, dear reader, today is your lucky day!

The folks over at We Love Fine tee shirts were kind enough to buy a few designs from your humble narrator!  Now available for purchase are Hipster Trixie and Derpy 209 tee shirts!  I'm...well, pretty excited and more-than-a-little shocked seeing my designs being marketed by an actual company.  The best I had always hoped for was selling sharpee-markered Trixie shirts out the back of a rusted El Camino in some black market pony bazaar!

Also, if you will indulge me a moment of absolutely shameless horn tooting, I am proud to report that my contest-winning shirt design, Your Face, is now the Numero Uno best selling product at We Love Fine!  So thank you, SO VERY VERY VERY MUCH to everypony who spent some of their hard-earned bits on my Flutterjerk shirt!  Hopefully it hasn't encouraged friends and acquaintances to dump water on you for added 4th Wall breaking lolz.

NumberOne by *PixelKitties

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me and to the wonderful folks at We Love Fine!

I wanted to take a moment and highlight Sethisto’s recent post over at Equestria Daily concerning the fan base and fan reactions to new episodes of My Little Pony.

Now, me, I happen to be a total nobody. I draw some stuff and spend most of my time just talking with awesome people and enjoying a sense of community with all you wonderful friends, bronies, and Equestrians.  But I have noticed, at least within the past month or so, a slow march away from all the good and noble and kind behavior that has been a hallmark of out fandom since its inception.   Specifically, this has been taking the form of pretty nasty and harsh criticisms of the show itself, from episode to episode.  I don’t know if this is coming from a sense of familiarity with the source material or perhaps it’s the fact the creators and producers have been so open to interacting with us that we are beginning to feel a false sense of ownership of the show.  Whatever the case, it’s not helpful, it’s not respectful, and if it continues it’s more than likely to drive a wedge between ourselves and the show we love.

Let’s face it, the amount of talent and hard work that Studio B puts into every episode is deserving of all our utmost respect and admiration. But of, course, that doesn’t mean it’s beyond artistic or cultural critique.   Is there room for criticism?  Certainly there is, and that’s not what I’m referring to.  Every individual has the right- and really the responsibility- as a fan to take part in that dialogue.  We each prefer one episode over another, support our favorite characters, and yammer on about the show with tremendous, unabashed enthusiasm and passion. Part of the fun in being a fan is discussing, critiquing, and picking apart every minor detail of the newest episode.

But lately it seems like the fanbase is getting a little bit full of itself and becoming a bit demanding in terms of what we want to see in the show.  Many of the responses to new episodes and news about the show have been downright hateful.   Add to that the constant chorus of “Oh no, some internal thing happened at Studio B!  the show is now RUINED FOREVER!” and you have a situation that makes it less and less likely the incredibly talented folks behind the show will want anything to do with their fans.

So far, the folks behind MLP:FIM have been unbelievably gracious and kind in reaching out to us. I don't want to see that relationship sour with us as fans acting like jerks and generally making selfish assumptions about who really "owns" the show and its characters.  Truth be told, we're tremendously fortunate to be part of this fandom at this time. It's a golden age for creativity and feedback and positivity. Let's strive to keep it that way and continue to represent the best aspects and lessons of the show we love.

While this is a show for little girls, I think it behooves us all to act liked adults and do our best to represent the best aspects of ourselves and the show.  We can disagree, we can critique, we can argue, and we can debate all while remaining cordial and respectful.  Honestly, that should apply to our interactions with one another as well as with the show and its creators.

Each of us is here for the same reason- the love of the show.  Certainly, we each feel a sense of ownership to the fandom and our place within it.  But I’ve always felt that we also have a responsibility to be the best fans we can be, to keep the lines of communication and respect open.  To make sure that the folks at Hasbro and Studio B can look at their fans and see a group that is approachable and embodies, whenever possible, the lessons and themes of the show itself.  I could be wrong, and it’s certainly just my opinion.  But in a year, in five years, in ten years even, I want to be proud to have taken part in this little fandom, and I want to truly believe that I had a part in making it the very best experience for everyone else who loves My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic as much as I do.

I hope this little rant doesn't hurt or offend anyone.  I just wanted to get a few things off my chest and encourage folks to...well, to just be excellent to each other!

Friends!  Bronies!  Equestrians!  Lend me your eyeballs!

THANK YOU all SO FREAKING MUCH!  If you haven’t heard me emoting about it all over the internet the Great and Powerful Sethisto over at Equestria Daily picked my infamous "Your Face" shirt design for Second Place in the We Love Fine shirt contest!   We Love Fine awarded me a 300 bit gift certificate, which, I have been told, cannot be traded for beer.  THANK YOU, Mr. Seth!  You have been too kind to me over these past few months, and this is the ultimate honor!

But really, TRULY thanks to all of YOU wonderful friends!  I placed really high in the main contest as well, which means folks were working hard to send so many votes my way!  Thank you thank you THANK YOU, Everypony, for supporting me- not only in this contest, but with all my art and various projects.  I say this a lot, but I mean this sincerely; I am humbled by the kindness of all my friends- whether on Deviant Art or Twitter or in the really real world.  I couldn’t have done any of this without your encouragement and friendship.  A few short months ago I was nervously entering little art contests on Ponychan in the hopes of winning a Rainbow Dash toy.  Now I’ve got a whole gaggle of comics under my belt and second place from We Love Fine.  I couldn’t have done any of it without all of you.  I’m the kind of person who needs motivation and feedback.  It’s the incredible sense of community and togetherness that has kept me going, and for that, I thank you and appreciate it more than I can ever properly express.

You have probably noted that my art output here on DA (as well as my ability to effectively keep up with comments) has been sketchy lately.  The truth of the matter is that I have been overwhelmed with work, both pony and non-pony.  Right now I’m working on big projects for The Bronyville Podcast, BroNYcon, and even something VERY special for Studio B themselves!  All that has left little time for my own comics and art things!  I am going to try and get back into the habit of making a new thing around the same time as the release of new episodes, though!  And, of course, I will uploading final versions and links to all my commissioned projects as soon as I am morally and legally free to do so!

And with that, I’m afraid I must actually get back to work!  I hope everpony had an incredible, awesome, all-around spectacular Thanksgiving vacation!  Amidst everything else, I’m going to try and get caught up with my comments this week, so if you wrote me and haven’t heard back, just be patient an itsy bitsy teeny-weeny bit longer!  Take care everyone- and I love you all!

PS- A special shout-out to my friend :icontekaramity: who is scientifically engineered from only the purest awesome and radical genes!

Once upon a time there was a remarkably silly and considerably inebriated pony named Pixelkitties!  She wanted to make a blog post on Deviant Art using words to express delight at a series of positive events in her life and thank her friends for being generally awesome all around!

But Pixelkitties was, as previously mentioned, inebriated.  Also there were shiny objects in the room and possibly noises as well.  This meant that she derped the journal entry not once, but THREE TIMES, posting and reposting the same thing!

Everyone tried to be polite and laugh it off.  But in truth, they wondered to themselves if she had finally, truly, completely gone bat-guano crazy.  They were probably right.

Sorry for the double-post, my friends!  Feel free to comment here about whatever you want.  For instance, feel free to debate whether the main cause of World War I was due to ongoing European Imperialism, the unchecked industrial and military growth of Germany, or Serbian nationalism! (The answer, of course, is choice 4- Leopards)

Tonight, quite to my surprise and amazement, I received word from the lovely and overworked PurpleTinker :iconpurpletinker:  that I was invited to be a guest of honor at January's BroNYCon super-mega awesome event!

Me!  Silly old boring pixelkitties hobnobbing with the likes of Pinkie Pie/Fluttershy voice actress Andrea Libman and the always-brilliant duo of Chef Sandy and Apple Cider from the Bronyville Podcast!

More to the point of my lack of worthiness, I will be hosting a panel with the utterly, completely, and in all ways BRILLIANT :iconjohnjoseco: John Joseco!

I would ask you to pinch me, dear reader, but I'm certain I'm not sleeping because the zombie mutant clowns aren't chasing me through a shifting cyclopean landscape.  That can only mean one thing- BroNYCon is REALLY happening on January 7, 2012, and if you can you should RSVP for the event immediately!  Trust me, my friends, you don't want to miss seeing pixelkitties drunk, disorderly, and challenging Apple Cider to a battle of mutant magnetism powers!  Trust me, it's inevitable!  I'm going to start drinking now so my Magnet Powers are at their peak come January!

In all honesty, I've been spending so much of my free time interacting with all you wonderful friends and bronies, I would love the opportunity to meet you in person and hang out while GEEKING out over all things pony!  If you can make it, please do, because, let's face it- With all that we've imagined, the reality of this night is sure to make
this... The Best Night Ever!

The latest episode of The Bronyville podcast featuring your humble narrator is now up!  If you want to hear me prattle on with the boys of Bronyville, you can check it out at the link or head over to the iTunes store and search for Bronyville.

Apple Cider and Chef Sandy were absolute gentlecolts and I had a blast spending several hours talking pony with them!

My only regret is that I think I sound TERRIBLE due to my sore throat and recent bout with losing my voice completely.  But, at least I made my kind hosts sound that much better by comparison!

Also, my "One Cool Thing" for the show was the incredibly d'awwww-worthy work of the awesome :iconcrochetismagic:

I stumbled on her adorable and cuddly crocheted ponies over at Derpy Hooves dot com and I nearly gave her all my money.  I will definitely be ordering a pony of my own very soon!  You should too, because... well, crocheted ponies playing Dungeons and Dragons!

Thanks to everyone who has supported my arts and my precense here in the Pony community the past several months.  I haven't been producing much lately due to moving , but I promise to get back to churning out pony-related nonsense this month.

Take care everypony, and see you soon!

I want to sincerely thank everypony for being SO VERY VERY VERY nice to me over the past few weeks!  A ton of you been so kind as to add me on Twitter and follow my pointless, short-form ramblings.  So far I have resisted the urge to tweet about the color and composition of my dinner menu or create/sustain any drama about Justin Bieber or supposedly killer, doomsday satellites.  So thanks for putting your Twitter faith in little old me!

In addition, you folks have been far too sweet in favoriting and commenting on my last two comics as well as the random little Flutterjerk/Lying Jack one-offs I've been making!  In particular when I put up the All Politics Are Loco comic, I was expecting a whole lot of angry ponies and less than a hundred favorites.  Instead, the feedback has been largely positive and the comic is sitting at a sweet 584 favorites!  I'm shocked and amazed and oh-so happy!  Thank you guys and gals and bronies of all stripes!  Thank you thank you thank you!

I am sad that I couldn't make it to broNYcon on Saturday!  From what I've seen on the Twitters, everyone had an amazing time!  I'm a bit disheartened at some of the questions posed to Jayson Thiessen.  Cupcakes?  Really?  I would really like to see the amazingly talented and wonderful folks who work on the show keep up a dialog and relationship with the fans.  I don't want them to look at interviews and convention appearances as an exercise in frustration.

With the convention over, I can finally post the giant-sized poster :iconpurpletinker: asked me to make!  I think it was actually auctioned off, so with respect to someone possibly paying actual monies for it, I will release a very low res version of the original 2 foot x 3 foot monster.  I'll post that sometime Monday!

This weekend in My Little Pony was, as expected, completely UNexpected!  There was so much glorious minutia to obsess over, I don't honestly know where to start!  My favorite part was Twilight describing her tiara as "Big crown thingie," which is how I describe virtually everything.

Barista- Hi, welcome to Starbucks!  What can I get for you?

Me- Big Crown Thingie.

Barista- I'm sorry…what?

But there was SO MUCH new stuff!  I had planned to make some other episode-related comic this weekend, but the creative centers my brain essentially shut down with so many options.  Tom the Rock?  Rainbow Spike?  Flutterjerk's inappropriate touching of Rarity's rock?  That weird-freaking screwball pony?  Big Mac acting like a dog?  Stuff overload!  Though, I was a bit disappointed with the resolution of Discord's story.  Trapped back in stone by the element lasers was a slight letdown, but after that FREAKING STAR WARS SHOT BY SHOT REMAKE!  Suddenly, all is forgiven!

Also, a particularly amusing (and a bit chaotic) episode of Doctor Who this weekend!  Craig Owens and Matt Smith have such brilliant chemistry, and the addition of STORMAGEDDON, DARK LORD OF ALL made everything that much better!  The ending felt a bit tacked on, a rushed game of catch-up finally bridging the events of Let's Kill Hitler to next week's Wedding of River Song.  Still, rushed or not, the sequence had me chomping at the bit for next week!  Can't wait!  Too many days!

Today should be mostly relaxing.  I'm going to make bread and chicken soup, try to answer the majority of comments and notes in my mailbox, and work on another little one-off pony drawing I've had running through my head this weekend.  I'm also going back to create my definitive Dragon Age 2 play-through now that all the horrendous bugs seem to be fixed (hooray!  Leliana finally remembers that she loves my Warden!)

Oh!  And I also bought a new arcade cabinet this weekend!  It's a crappy old golf game that I plan to strip down and turn into a Centipede-inspired MAME cabinet with my Arcade X trackball controller.  I've already got a fancy PacMan-styled MAME machine, but switching out between the trackball and standard joystick controls is lame with a capital LAME!

And that's all for now!  You are all the awesome and I can't thank you enough for all the wonderful correspondence and conversation I've shared lately!  Please keep coming back, because interacting with everyone is the highlight of my day, every day!

Thanks everypony!

PS- HOLY CATS!  I would be remiss if I neglected to request, nay INSIST that you take your sexy selves over and favorite the crap out of :iconflamingorich: stunning animation project Pinkie Pie in "Present Prank."  Stunning, brilliant, awe-inspiring, none of these words really do justice to his incredible work!    I cannot possibly praise him enough, so help a sister out!

PPS- I almost forgot?  How could I forget?  BAD ME!  The wonderful :icontwilightflopple: drew a picture of your humble narrator pony!   As usual pixelkitties pony is contemplating life, the universe, and everything through beer-colored cat's eye glasses!  Thank you, lovely lady!

Being an inherently Fluttershy type of pony, I have had a Twitter account for a few days now but didn't want to impose on folks or bother you nice Deviants by announcing the link here on DA.   But I have been told by a few of you who've already found me, that it's okay doesn't constitute bad internet manners or make me totally square!

Well, at least no more than usual!

Anyway, here's the link to my Twitter page, you know- if that's okay...

Well, I have to say this has been an amazing weekend of television!

The Season Two premier of Friendship is Magic was not nearly as good as I had hoped- IT WAS BETTER!  I loved how most every character had their personality turned on its ear, I loved Flutterjerk and AppleFib and Pinkie Cry and...well, Rainbow Dash!  I love Discord and his smooth John de Lancie tones!  I love how Celestia once again turns over the heavy lifting and danger to the poor citizens of Ponyville!  All in all, WONDERFUL!

On top of that, last night's episode of Doctor Who, titled "The God Complex" was even better than the already-brilliant "Girl Who Waited" from last week!  I can't believe how this show manages to top itself again and again.  So many cryptic clues!  So much wonderful storytelling and set design!  And also, a tragic Minotaur that feeds on faith!  FANTASTIC!

I'm going to spend this afternoon going through all my comments and notes and email!  I also have a few requests to get to, so there will be art!  Hooray art!

I must warn you that as I work I am going to be simultaneously working my way through a lovely bottle of Dogfish Head brewery's Chateau Jiahu.  So my responses will probably start out witty and engaging and eventually devolve into swearing and conspiratorial accusations as the afternoon progresses.  You have been warned!

Finally, I really need to thank everyone who has been SO wonderful to me this weekend!  I can't believe how many people have taken the time to favorite and comment upon my deluge of random pony stuff!  I really hope this constant stream of weirdness doesn't get old because I am having a really great time already this season!  Expect more comics and ponies and things (oh my!) this week!

Thanks everypony!  I love you all one million!

The Discord-a-megeddon is upon us!  The character has broken the show!  THEY HAVE CHANGED EVERYTHING!  It's all over!  RUINED FOREVER!

Ahem, anyway, it seems fan reaction to the released images and clip has been a bit hyperbolic, as is to be expected.  We've all gone without new pony for MONTHS and now everypony is keyed up to eleven with anticipation.

I'm a bit surprised, though, that so many people are hating on Discord.  I suppose folks hoping for a more dark, menacing character, like the bad-flank Tirek from Rescue At Midnight Castle (pictured above.)

Instead, Discord is a seemingly goofy-yet-powerful trickster on par with Thor's Loki or (surprise!) Q from Star Trek, which is perfectly fitting in the context of the show and the world of Friendship is Magic.  He's a little silly, he's a creature based on Greek mythology (a Chimera), and being named Discord, he's quite appropriately an amalgam of various Equestrian creatures, assembled into pure chaos.

I have to wonder if we're all a bit spoiled by the amazing fan creations that have filled the void these past few months.  We're so used to experiencing all the wondrous, disparate directions the fandom has taken the themes and characters that perhaps we've forgotten what the show at core of this phenomenon really is.

Anyway, I suspect that most (But not all, there will always be neigh-sayers!) of the freaking-out will end once the sure-to-be-brilliant premier airs on Saturday!

I do have a question for everypony reading!  We all have a laundry-list of things we want to see in Season 2 (MORE TRIXIE!) but is there anything you DON'T want to see in the show?  Characters you don't want to return?  Episode tropes that you find stale?  Directions you don't want to see the show take?

For my part, I hope they don't introduce love interests or romantic plotlines for any of the mane cast (or any fan-favs, really.)  Obviously, they're not going to feature any of the pairings or relationships that I would most like to see, this being an American children's cartoon at its heart.  So I'd prefer to not have my Twixie fix negated by an episode with Twilight falling in love with some dashing colt from her past or whatever.  Boo-hiss!  Or worse, can you imagine the awfulness of finding out that Bon Bon has a husband named Gum Drop?  The horror, indeed!

Anyway, I'm anxious to hear what everypony else is NOT looking forward to!

My friends, I am sad that I cannot join you for hours and hours of pony awesome over at the Bronyville Livestream Event.  I am visiting parents, and the internet has come and gone so much I am unable to log in for a quick peek or even download the latest Torchwood or Doctor Who.  I am left to cry into my delicious Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale, and sullenly choke down my filet mignon while wishing with all my heart that I could be there with you!

I trust the marathon has been awesome and wonderful in equal measure!  Feel free to drop by here and let me know the highlights as, at the very least, I'm able to check in with Deviant Art on my trust I-Phizzle.

Love and Toleration, my wonderful friends!

There are so many awesome-pasta pony blogs out there- too many to keep track of these days.  But one of my very favorites, and one that needs a lot more love and attention, is OBSESSION IS MAGIC who were amazingly kind enough to interview me this past week.  The site is run by three great guys Galvin Starlight, RevolutionaryBrony, and my brilliant, kind and all-around talented friend :iconthelordofdust: The Lord of Dust!

Their site covers a lot of great, USDA-choice cuts of news and information about Friendship is Magic as well as some tangental pop-culture cool stuff like games and movies (Not to mention, they were the first to inform me of BBC's new Sherlock Season 2 Teaser Trailer, for which I am eternally grateful!

In all seriousness, these are a great bunch of guys with an awesome perspective on our universally beloved fandom.  Please check their site out, add it to your favorites, and help me roll their site counter over to one quintuplion!  That's a real number right?  Sure it is!

Anyway, THANK YOU so much, gentlebronies!  I love you guys and really, really REALLY super-appreciate your kindness to me on DA, on the blog, and as bronies and friends!  You're the best!
Howdy everypony!

I am so happy to report my best friend came through surgery without a hitch...that is, except for the hitch of having to go into surgery and have evil cancer bits taken out to begin with.  Thanks to everyone who wrote me inquiring about her health, and passed along your well wishes and good karma.  Thursday was a rough day with lots of worrying and stressing over the outcome.  But according to her doctor, surgery went perfectly and he could see no obvious sign of the cancer having spread further.  And, I have to tell you, at that moment an enormous sigh of relief was breathed by your humble narrator.

Furthermore, last night I completed work on my BroNYcon auction poster for :iconpurpletinker: !  Not that I want to be accused of tooting any horn that I happen to own, but I'm pretty darn happy with the way it turned out!  It was a lot of work and a significant amount of hand-wringing over my ability to deliver something appropriately awesome for the occasion, but now that it's done I think I can safely step back and say "Hey, that doesn't suck hardly at all!"

Tonight, I plan to relax, drink some fancy, beer-snobby microbrews and play Bulletstorm until the cows come home.  And when the cows DO come home they'd better BYOB because I am SO not sharing expensive beer with an animal that's just going to redigest it like four times anyway...

I have a ton of comments and messages to get through on here, but I will definitely get to them sometime this week!  Until then, you're all awesome and brilliant and the best online art pals a girl could ask for!  Thanks!
What a busy week/weekend/month-ish thing this is turning out to be!  At this point I'm surviving on a fizzy mix of Rockstar, adrenaline, Excedrin, and Super Pony Beat.  Unfortunately, there will be no comic this week, which makes me sad.  I really feel like I'm a big fat disappointment, despite my lack of free time- or any actual time- right now.

I'm just about halfway done with my poster for BroNYcon, which is freaking me out just a little bit.  Not only am I running behind my original schedule, but this is a poster that is going to feature Jayson Thiessen, Lauren Faust, AND Sethisto- and be auctioned off.  For real monies, not internet monies!  No pressure at all!  In my head I just keep envisioning Jayson Thiessen with a  monocle and top hat, looking my poster up and down and casually remarking "Well, this pixelkitties is quite a lot a rubbish then, isn't she?" followed by cigars and brandy in the library.  This is exactly the kind of project I dreamed of when I began nervously contributing art to this new-fangled fandom, and now it's here and I'm not too proud to admit I'm scared poopless, from my pigtails to my toenails!

FYI, you still have time to RSVP for September's BroNYcon in beautiful and freshly-bathed New York City!  You should totally go there and have a super-great time.  Also you should assure Jayson Thiessen that I'm not-at-all rubbish and actually a very nice person…  For more information check out the BroNYcon Meetup Website or visit the Deviant Art home of the lovely and talented :iconpurpletinker:

The really stressful part of the week comes Thursday when my best friend in the world is having surgery to operate on her more-than-somewhat-serious colon cancer.  After months of chemotherapy and radiation and seemingly endless visits to the Cancer Center here in Pittsburgh, this is the chance to get rid of all the bad stuff once and for all.  Which is good.  But…well, take all my scared from the preceding paragraph, multiply it by a giant made-up number like eleventeen quintuplion, and that's about where my head is on the subject of Thursday.   Not unexpectedly, I will be a bit out of pocket that day, so I prolly won't be able to answer emails and notes until later that evening or Friday.

Despite all the really good reasons, somehow my subconscious still manages to make me feel bad that I've been forced to turn down/postpone so many requests and put off my sterling record of weekly comics.  I know it's completely stupid, but I strive to give back as much as I can to this awesome little community.  I don't want to disappoint or fail to live up to everypony's expectations- not to mention my own expectations.  I hope my awesome friends and bronies aren't too put off by the delays and my absent-minded derpiness for the next couple weeks.  I really love you guys and want to be as awesome to you all as you've been to me with your support and feedback!

This week, all I really have to offer is a quick photo of my WIP Applejack barn.  I found a cute bird feeder about a month back at a hardware store and I've been hacking into and re-painting it in my mostly-nonexistent free time so Applejack has a proper place to store her apples and hide birthday parties from Pinkie Pie.

That's about all there is to say this week.  Once again, thanks everypony for being awesome and, most of all, being patient with me.  I really appreciate your support and kindness.  I still owe you all a better 1000 Watches special something.  I also hope Sethisto doesn't cast me out for failing to supply him with a comic this week!

Hope you're all having a great week!  Get lots of sleep and play lots of video games for me!

Howdy there, everpony!

I am always surprised and touched by the response to my silly comics, and this past week was no exception.  Not only did I reach 400 favorites in just a few hours, but Seth-by-way-of-Cereal posted it on Equestria Daily before I even finished watching Fright Night!  SQUEE!

I've done my best to respond in some measure to everypony who was kind enough to leave a comment on the Power Mare Zero comic, but I must confess I just couldn't get to all the incredibly kind and supportive comments on my last journal entry.  I worry a bit that I myself seemed a little bit flank-hurt about a few silly comments, but you lovely friends and Deviants made me feel like a million bits with your support for myself and my comic and, well, cannibalism.  Who'd have thought?  =)

The next couple of weeks are going to be a bit of a mess, I'm afraid!  There will be a rather short new comic this week, tentatively titled "Cutie Mark Crime Spree."  After that, I probably won't get to make a new comic until at least the second week in September.  I am honored to have been asked to work on two really, really cool side projects.  The first is creating a supergiantsized poster for the September BroNYcon in Manehattan!  The second is a series of Season 2 character-themed posters, based on the limited amount of plot (heh)we have so far.  Details on these are still of the hush-hush variety, but as soon as I'm allowed to gush and post stuff, you know auntie pixelkitties will take care of you!

In addition, I have 1000 Watches coming up, which means some fancy celebratory image that I have so-far failed to conceive of.  There's a certain level of epic-ness that 1000 implies, so there's a bit of pressure to impress and properly thank everypony!

In personal news, I've managed to get my hands on the somewhat strangely-coloured new brushable ponies.   As a complete, unabashed obsessive, I snatched them into my awkward embrace and bought them all on sight, but I have to say I'm more than a little frustrated that THESE are the ponies Hasbro decided to churn out, rather than Trixie, Zecora, Lyra, Bon-Bon, Derpy, or any of the beloved cast of background ponies.  At least I now have my very own Cheerilee, even if her cutie mark is WRONG WRONG WRONG!  Oh, Great Celestia, I'm beginning to sound like one of those ungrateful, nit-picky fans of just-about everything else out there!  After all, when it comes to Hasbro's marketing, it's best not to look a show-appropriate pony in the mouth!

Finally, I'm working on a making a little barn playset for Applejack!  At first I had some illusion of making it slavishly and intricately show accurate, but with everything else on my proverbial plate, I think it will be easier to make it up as I go along!  Pictures to come along soon, perhaps next week in lieu of an actual comic.

And…that's all!  Other than the fact I want to end with a heartfelt thank you to everypony who has gone out of their way to Watch, Favorite, Comment, and otherwise support me these past few months.  I really can't believe how lucky I've been, coming to this fandom more than a little late in the game, but finding so much welcoming kindness.  Best fans ever or best fans ever?

BESTEST FANS EVERS!
